Salvation Army Update On Bridge Collapse Relief Efforts

Salvation Army emergency
disaster services personnel continue to provide physical, emotional and
spiritual aid to hundreds of relief workers and survivors following the
I-35W bridge collapse.

A Salvation Army emergency disaster services vehicle (canteen) is
located on the 10th Ave. bridge, right next to the wreckage. Volunteers are
serving food and drink to relief workers, police officers, state officials
and others. A Salvation Army officer (pastor) is also on hand.

Working jointly with the Red Cross, The Salvation Army is serving meals
at the reception center of the Minneapolis Holiday Inn, 1500 Washington
Ave. S. The food is being provided to mental health workers and families
affected by the disaster.

Target Corp., Macy's Inc. and Cub Foods have donated tens of thousands
of dollars in food and beverages to The Salvation Army in the past two
days.
